Andy will give a lecture and demonstration the first half of day 1 covering value studies.

Days 2-4 you will be introduced to Andys’ approach to creating a watercolor painting, with value, color, shape, texture. You will do practice exercises and we’ll paint value study-to-color lessons together from reference photos of Boca and the surrounding area, trying to cover different aspects of landscape (sky; water; trees; figures; street scene).

“There seems to be a never-endinq quest to loosen up in watercolor. I hear it from my students all the time. It’s easy to fall into the trap of putting too much into your paintings, and editing out the non-essential whether working from photo reference or painting on location is so important.”
